Why are British independent schools so highly regarded?
British independent education remains at the forefront of educational innovation and creativity. Each school has its own distinguishing features and special qualities, though all impart the character and confidence that is the hallmark of an independently educated child. Such schools prepare children for life and open doors to the most prestigious universities and career opportunities worldwide.

Can Gabbitas Education help explain the new GCSE Grading System?
GCSEs in England are changing to ensure that young people have the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the 21st Century. The new GCSEs will ensure that students leave school better prepared for work or further study. They cover more challenging content and are designed to match standards in the strongest performing education systems elsewhere in the world.
The new qualifications will start to be awarded with number grades, rather than letters. The new grading scale runs from 9 to 1 instead of A* to G, with 9 the highest grade. Not all GCSEs are changing at once – English language, English literature and maths have already changed. By 2020, all GCSEs in England will be reformed and graded using numbers instead of letters. The new scale is intended to recognise more clearly the achievements of high-attaining students.
