Boarding School Guardian Families

Boarding School Guardian Families

At Gabbitas Education the welfare and success of students coming to the UK is extremely important to us and with over 140 years in the educational field we have the experience and knowledge required to support you. We are the only organisation of our kind to have an association with the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC). We offer a range guardianship services to support students both pastorally and academically during their time in the UK.

For students who are full boarding at a UK school, we provide two levels of service; Standby Service and Gold Service. Our Stand-by Service offer a 24-hour emergency service and background support as required for your child. Our Gold Service includes all Stand-by Services plus a Guardian family for exeat weekends and half-terms, the organisation of transport, contact with the school regarding travel arrangements and academic progress, an annual visit to the school to see how the student is progressing and attendance at one parents’ evening on the parents behalf.

Interested in Becoming a Guardian/Host Family?

Our team is always looking for new families to act as guardians or to host children attending local day and boarding schools. Children attending local day schools require full-time hosting, whereas children attending local boarding schools only need looking after in the holidays and over several ‘exeat’ weekends each year. Families will need to be homeowners and students will need a room with some space for clothing and a desk for studying.

If you are interested in becoming a Gabbitas Education Guardian/Host Family, please complete the Contact Us form opposite.
